Federal Standard Plugs
(62) A wide variety of Federal Standard cable assemblies meeting the requirements of NEMA XR7 are available, as well as modified versions with multiple pin configurations and extended plugs for higher voltage operation. Plugs are available with either fixed or removeable flanges and coupling nuts. Mini Plugs
Based primarily on the increased use of switching power supplies as front end drivers for high voltage sources resulting in decreased size and weight, a need has surfaced for 75KV x-ray cables that are smaller than Federal Standard but which meet the same exacting standards of performance. Pancake or flat connectors have an aspect ratio such as to minimize the projection of the cable connector into either a tube or a power supply. This style of termination relies upon a compressed silicone rubber gasket that is capable of providing radial holdoff of at least 150KVDC per inch. /Asset/Pancake.jpg
